Due to the nature of humanity, this journal has moved toward a more reserved stance, which is best described as "Get off my lawn."

Hopefully I haven't jinxed her...

So MY BOSS (he is CANADIAN) is in China attending the gold medal (USA vs Brazil) round of soccer, then the gold medal (USA vs... china?) round of Women's Beach Volleyball. Goddamnit. Then he's going to table tennis *snicker*.

Not that I'm not glad Argentina won, but that ref was atrocious. AWFUL.

Excited for the US ladies vs Brazil in the final, excited for the Argentina men vs Nigeria, that should be a tough match. Not too fashed yet about United's draw to start the season - we've always been a slow starting team.

Two more days, two more books.

Scar Night and Iron Angel. They're related, books 1 and 2 in a series. Book 3 isn't out yet. My timing is stink.

Well HOLY SHIT. Jason Lezak is owed many blowjobs.

Although Ryan Lochte is way prettier. Based on the interviews, all that breath holding makes them all pretty dumb... But damn, those bodies.

WOOO LEZAK!

torres looking smoove
GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

There was such a hot guy in the bar tonight. Sitting alone, EATING DINNER at 10pm. Tall, looked shockingly like Ruud van Nistelrooy only fairer and less uh, beardy. I wanted to talk to him so badly, but I didn't.

I did ask my friend Patrice to get his number after I left though XD. I'm sure that won't happen. There were two blondes hitting on him.

I was trying to guess though, why alone in a bar eating dinner at 10pm?

This is the first time I've like, actively WANTED someone in ages. Wish I looked better. Wish I had more confidence. :/

SPN - hold hands
Should I take down the Sacha Olympic icon? I'm sad our boys have bowed out, mostly because they did it in such a lametarded fashion. But it is an U23 team, they're not supposed to be perfect yet. I saw a lot of raw (but clearly unpolished) potential out there. Some folks are hating on Orozco, and I admit wanting to smack him, but he was only the biggest symptom of the disfunction out there. Goodnight, USMNT Olympic series - and now, back to the ladies. Helllllllo, Hope Solo!

That was the second soccer disappointment of the week for me: the Sounders also crashed out of the Open Cup. Our star striker had his penalty saved. ODD HOW THAT HAPPENS. In better news - maybe - Kasey Keller's coming to the MLS Sounders next season.

I am in a shitload of pain. All this working out and no weight loss to show for it - granted, my jeans fit way better and some things are smaller, but actual numbers loss, no. You know why? Because food is delicious. I'll get around it somehow. In the meantime I still can't wear heels for another week or so, due to the shin splints and tear in my shin muscle. Wah. At night, my joints hurt sooo much. I think I've got progeria I'm so fucking old before my time boohoo sniff.

In good work news, Bossdude hired a new admin. She starts in 2 weeks, and soon thereafter, I am off the hook and down to one job. In celebration, I have booked Sept 5-12 off to just chill. If it's still nice out, I'm staying poolside for those days and writing nonstop and that is IT. If it is crappy well I'll come up with something.

This is the video for 'You're a Wolf' by Sea Wolf, which is a song I cannot stop listening to lately.

On that album, 'Middle Distance Runner' is actually the song I prefer. Check it out, it won't bite.

And thank you [info]kaiserkehl for linking me to spoilery Supernatural season premier pictures. If you want to see them too, click here. Man, I used to be so much better about steering clear of spoilers. Now I can't help myself. Must. Look. Into. Future.

books
Finished Mathmeticians in Love, by Rudy Rucker. OK I struggled with it - science fiction by scientists is often a little harder for me. Also, fuck Alma. That was so unsatisfying. RAWR.

So that's a little over 1,000 pages in 8 days. MUST SLOW DOWN.

I have two books left in the house, Iron Angel and The Ball is Round.

You know, I am pleased we won the Community Shield, but mostly I feel sorry for Pompey. Those were terrible pens - except Edwin's incredibly sexy kick save on that one.

Also, we looked fairly bad, and Tevez needs to learn to curb his temper.

I overslept (I was sick) so I missed the USA game. I hear we threw it away, but man when you think about it, turning in a 2-2 against Holland is amazing. Also, please note the icon! YAY SACHA!
